In September I was gifted a copy of Sunkenland by a friend.  The game had only just come out, but it instantly went down well.

According to the Steam store page, “Sunkenland is an exciting post-apocalyptic survival and exploration game set in the near future when water covered most of the Earth. Explore sunken cities, scavenge resources and valuable technologies, build your base, trade, fight and survive.”

It is still very early access of course (its only been out a month) but this game already shows promise.  Shades of Stranded Deep, Raft, with a bit of 7D2D, and all based on the movie set of Waterworld!  Of course there are bugs, and the key bindings need to be sorted (to be fully customisable), but it is easy to see the vision of where this could go.

The developers have been open, responsive (check out their Discord) and have published a fairly impressive number of updates since launch.

I only have about 23 hours in the game so far but I am loving it, and think it could finally be a game to at least come close to rivalling Subsistence in my affections (though it could never over take it!).

I am currently running a solo playthrough series as well as recording a multiplayer series with KJ PC Gaming.

Check them out and let me know what you think!  Do you have the game yourself?  What do you think of it so far?
